At the end of my first voyage with P&O we left Sydney to return to the UK in the Spring of 1974. The atmosphere was fantastic, the band playing, the streamers from ship to shore that broke as the Oriana pulled away from Circular Quay. Remember some passengers were leaving behind friends and relations to start a new life in the United Kingdom. A very emotional event.
