I'm an Ancient Mariner, now living in Auckland New Zealand. Spent a few years at sea as an Engineer Officer, but had the sense to swallow the anchor and head for a career ashore - initially in England, but then for 60 years in New Zealand.

Never regretted any of my decisions, although the results were a mixed bag. Proud to have served on steam-turbine ships with Pacific Navigation Company sailing out of Liverpool and motor ships with Port Line out of London.

With sailing as a hobby in NZ, both motor and sail, I have many tales to tell!
